Mary Maki is the owner of Carolina Cottages.  She began her professional career as a nurse and soon traded in her stethoscope for a hard hat!  She started doing construction and owned businesses like Southern Exposure Sunrooms, Ocean Blue Pools & Spas, and now, her favorite, Carolina Cottages.  Working with people and helping them design their backyards and interiors of their homes has brought her so much joy!  She is excited to have created such a colorful place to work and play!

Brandy joined our team in June 2009 and has proven to be a kind, compassionate person and always concerned about her customers.  Her design ability matches her heart: soft, gentle & colorful.  Her favorite past time, aside from spending time with her husband *wink* is doing anything crafty with her mom!

Who is your favorite designer?  Kelly Wearstler- she is amazing!

Who's house would you like to decorate?  I would love to work with a victim of domestic violence or someone who has gotten themselves out of a really bad situation; someone who wants to create a new life for themselves.  I think your home should be a place where you are comfortable and ultimately a place where you can walk in the door and be excited that you call that place "home".  I think it is so important to create that atmosphere for yourself- to help with the healing process.

What's your favorite tv show?  I know I should mention one of those home makeover shows, but I seriously LOVE Fresh Prince of Bel Air and The Cosby Show more than any show in the world!  (sad, I know...)

Tamara Wade joined our team in October of 2009 as a part-time interior designer.  Tamara has a degree in Marketing and Interior Design and merges her educational background to create the perfect addition to our showroom.  She has specialized in kitchen and bath design and feels she excels in color and fabric coordination.  Tamara has a bubbly and energetic personality and loves to assist our customers with making the perfect selection.  Tamara has a more modern design approach in her personal life but has a deep seeded appreciation and respect for all styles of design.  In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family including her two dogs Fishhook and Tackle.

Who’s house would you like to decorate?  The average working class home.  Tamara feels that everyone should have the privilege of a well designed beautiful home.  People think they can‘t afford to hire an interior design but there are cost effective ways to utilize their services.  Although they do charge by the hour you would be amazed at how beneficial a two to three hour consult can be.  Come to the meeting prepared.  Have certain selections available and use your designer’s expertise to help tie it all together.  Brandy and I available to help with on-site design consults.

Whats your favorite tv show?  I love so many shows but I think my favorites would have to be Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisper, and Bones
