Welcome to Carolina Cottages. My upbringing was in the west coast of Ireland. Growing up, our home was very shabby chic; the only thing that we could afford was a fresh coat of paint. My mother loved color; it was her way of reflecting her cheery nature. With nine brothers and sisters labor was cheap and believe me we painted often. All the wooden furniture in our house had several coats of paint giving it a true distressed look. My family/kitchen room was full of color: red table, yellow chairs, cream doors, chocolate ceiling, and sea foam green walls. Little did I know that all that painting my mother had us kids doing would be my inspiration for Carolina Cottages.
